City Leaderboards
Where Do Homeowners Overpay Most?
We ranked US cities by how much local contractor prices differ from national medians — so you know whether your market runs high, low, or fair.

Leaderboards require at least 3 approved quotes per city per service category. Help build the dataset by uploading your quote.
Upload a QuoteOverpay %: For each city, we compute the average local quote price per service category and compare it against our national median benchmark. The displayed percentage is a weighted average across all qualifying service categories in that city.
Minimum threshold: A city × service combination is only included if at least 3 approved quotes have been submitted. This prevents individual outlier quotes from distorting rankings.
Quality gate: Only quotes withqcStatus = APPROVEDare included. Our moderation team reviews each submission before it counts.
Interpretation: A city showing +25% does not mean every contractor there overcharges — it means quotes submitted by NeighborQuote users in that city averaged 25% above the national benchmark. Local cost-of-living, labor markets, and permit costs all legitimately affect contractor pricing.
